For assignors, officials, and event directors

An assignment should move when the event moves.

Assignors chase availability and replacements while officials receive schedule changes without one accountable event-bound offer.

Before, during, and after the game

Carry the event through review

An official accepts a Saturday afternoon assignment. On Friday night, the event moves to another field and starts forty-five minutes earlier. The assignor updates a spreadsheet and sends a group text, but the accepted offer still shows the original details. A second official is asked to cover without seeing the crew, conflict, or qualification context. The event changed once; the assignment fractured into several competing versions.

How the work moves

Keep the record and media aligned

SightSmash Officials connects an identified person's availability and source-labeled qualification evidence to the canonical event. The assignor creates a clear offer with role, time, venue, crew context, response deadline, and conflict information. Acceptance records the exact version the official saw. A schedule change returns to that assignment for acknowledgement or replacement instead of creating a second officiating calendar detached from the event.

Conflict checks can surface overlapping events, declared blackouts, travel constraints, and rule-based qualification needs without automatically deciding who must work. When an official declines or turns back an assignment, the replacement path preserves the first receipt and opens a bounded offer to an eligible person. Event-day check-in provides attendance evidence. It does not certify performance or expose underlying screening records to staff who only need a pass, pending, fail, expiry, and source reference.

After the event, the official can confirm the work context and return the permitted result or incident handoff. The work receipt may create an approved pay obligation through the existing workforce and money authorities; it is not payroll, tax, or provider settlement. Corrections preserve the assignment, event, check-in, and approval history so the official and operator can resolve a dispute without rewriting the schedule.

The next responsible step

Who needs what next

From event to offer

The canonical event supplies the role, place, and time. The offer records the exact version and official response instead of copying details into another calendar.

From turn-back to replacement

A declined or returned assignment opens a governed replacement path with visible requirements, conflicts, and history. The original receipt remains intact.

From completed duty to work receipt

Check-in and authorized completion can support a pay obligation. Payroll, tax, settlement, credential, and screening authorities remain outside the assignment record.

Trust and controls

The important limits stay visible

SightSmash Officials does not certify, license, register, screen, employ, insure, pay, or make tax determinations for an official. Governing-body credentials and screening states are source-labeled evidence. Event authority, official result authority, work evidence, and money remain distinct even when one assignment connects them. Officials and assignors also need a visible support route for a disputed offer, missed notice, incorrect check-in, or work receipt; resolving it preserves the event and assignment versions each person actually saw.
